Colorado born & Utah based Pop/RnB artist Nicole McMahan is a powerhouse vocalist that has been compared to Whitney HoustonMariah Carey, and Bruno Mars. Her strong voice paired with the tasteful productions, created by producer/composer/husband Gavin McMahan, tackle subjects of feminism, individuality, and life. Paired with artfully crafted lyrics, McMahan successfully spins together a live performance that is uniquely powerful, thought provoking, and fun.

Her debut single "Aphrodisiac feat. Liawe." (June 2021) was “characterized as brilliant” by LeFuturewave and Earmilk raved about the “powerful vocals reminiscent of early Jody Watley [and] Paula Abdul”.

"Touch Me" (July 2021), McMahan’s second single, was released shortly after and receive similar praise. SLUG Magazine wrote that "Touch Me", "balances restraint and urgency, secret desire and ecstatic proclamations of romance and sexuality—a distillation of the competing forces present within the art of seduction".

Her third single "Magnets" (January 2022) is full of sunshine, crossing between future funk and nu disco. LeFuturewave praised the track for its "textured, funky riffs" noting them as "a refreshing change from the usual" and stating that "we need more music like this in our lives".

In November of 2021 she was interviewed by SLUG Soundwaves where she discussed her priority in helping her audience feel like they can take up space and be loud, as well as her passion for performing live.

"Good Love" (May 2022), McMahan's second single of 2022 was well received by her audience, mixing 90's RnB and modern Ariana Grande-esque vocals and production. After submitting it to a Protege contest, Darkchild commented on how it echoed back to the great 90s pop ballads of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. 

 

 Her next single, "Sunshine" (August 2022) is promised to be your new morning affirmation and was warmly received by her audience. McMahan ended 2022 off strong by releasing a remix of "Aphrodisiac" with house duo Sauce Packet in October and signing a contract with Washington Street Publishing in Nashville for sync representation for "Magnets", "Sunshine", and "Good Love" in December.

Starting in 2021, she has performed at numerous Utah music festivals along side I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, Ritt Momney, Joshua James, FictionistGaron BrettAshley HessJenn BlosilMindy Gledhill, Angie Petty, and many more.
